Livingston Parish Public Schools

Department of Child Nutrition

Child Nutrition is looking forward to a great year.  Livingston Parish Public Schools participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.  Our menus offer a variety of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, low fat or reduced fat entrées, and low fat or fat free milk choices.

Our menus are designed to meet the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations.  Please check the menu section of our website for the latest menu.
Students are offered a minimum of five items daily for lunch and must select at least three items.  Per Federal guidelines, students must select ½ cup of fruit or vegetable in addition to or as one of the three items selected.  USDA has implemented these changes to encourage students to eat more fruits and vegetables.

We are continuously striving to improve our program and customer satisfaction.  Be on the lookout for new menu items during the 2016-2017 school year, such as brownies, flat breads and philly cheese steak sandwiches. We look forward to providing your child with nutritious meals in the upcoming school year!

In an effort to improve the health and performance of our students we always encourage students to eat breakfast.  We currently offer two breakfast choices daily in all schools.  Studies have proven that students who eat breakfast everyday improve academic performance and increase ability to focus and concentrate on schoolwork.  Please encourage your child to eat breakfast every day.
